Grant Making Overview

CASI Foundation makes grants from both restricted and unrestricted funds. The majority of the Foundation’s grants come from restricted funds such as donor-advised funds. Unrestricted grants are given from the income generated from CASI Foundation’s Community Empowerment Fund.

The Community Empowerment Fund invests donations and uses compounded interest from those investments to make grants. A donor’s gift keeps growing and benefiting the community in perpetuity.

In general, the CASI Foundation gives grants to support non-profit sustainability. Strong non-profits help to create strong communities. CASI’s goal is to strengthen the infrastructure of non-profits so they can successfully and effectively deliver their services over long time horizons.

The CASI Foundation Board of Trustees prioritizes general funding interests at its annual meeting. See the Grant Guidelines section for more information on our grant making process.
