CASI Approach: What We Do?

Works in partnership with two independent for-profits
CASI Foundation works with Church Affinity Services, Inc. (CASI) and CASI Investments to ensure that communities have the resources they need to be successful and sustainable. The genius of CASI is that three companies are working together to accomplish one goal: non-profit substantiality. The below graph highlights how each work together completely seamlessly:

Whenever individuals use a CASI registered MasterCard or VISA Debit Card at participating stores, merchants give a cash rebate to the CASI Foundation (diagram #1). In addition, individuals can redeem points from participating loyalty programs for cash and make a donation to the CASI Foundation (diagram #1).

The Foundation funnels a portion of the merchant or point donor contribution to the charitable organization selected by the CASI registered cardholder or designated by the point donor (diagram #2). The entire universe of IRS eligible non-profits can be selected by the CASI registered cardholder or point donor. CASI Foundation does not endorse or influence the selection of non-profits in anyway.

A portion of each merchant or point donor contribution is used to establish or build an endowment account for the benefit of the designated non-profit at the CASI Foundation (diagram #3). Endowment account assets are held at an independent custodian in separate accounts.

In some cases, those assets are invested for growth and income by CASI Investments (diagram #4). Income from endowment assets provides on-going support to charitable organizations (diagram #5).

Create and administer Donor-Advised Funds
Whether a donor wants to give back; share their philanthropic values with their family; or build a legacy, CASI Foundation has the in-house capability to provide end-to-end assistance. CASI Foundation’s professional staff will manage the administration and financial reporting of your fund so you can focus your energy on giving. You, or others that you name, can advised grants from the fund with no administrative burden. You can use as much of the balance as you wish for grants over time, or endow the fund to leave a permanent legacy.

Provide Technical Assistance to Non-profits
CASI Foundation provides fee-based services for donors including educational seminars and workshops designed to cover all aspects of organizational capacity building. Our professional staff has over 100 years of combined experience and expertise.

Make Grants
CASI Foundation makes grants from both restricted and unrestricted funds. The majority of the Foundation’s grants come from restricted funds such as donor-advised funds. Unrestricted grants are given from the income generated from CASI Foundation’s Community Empowerment Fund.

In general, the CASI Foundation gives grants to support non-profit sustainability. Strong non-profits help to create strong communities.

Assist organizations with their Planned Giving Initiatives
CASI Foundation offers guidance to non-profits in all areas of giving. Our expertise is developing comprehensive endowment and planned giving initiatives that dove-tail well with existing efforts.
